Neighbor Helping Neighbor

Our Callahan Community Hubs are the heart of our mission to serve families across the Phoenix Valley. These hubs serve as centralized locations where community members can prepare essential items that will be used in our open closets and open pantries. By providing a welcoming and inclusive space, we aim to enhance the quality of life for all individuals in need. Join us in creating a stronger, more connected community at Callahan Community Hubs.

How It works

  • Callahan Care Establishes a Community hub in the middle of the districts that currently have Open Stores

  • Callahan Care establishes partnerships with Churches and Volunteer groups in the local area to help run the Community Hub.

  • Church Partners and Volunteers nominate a Hub Coordinator from their organization to help take charge of the Community Hub. This means ensuring that all available deliveries are scheduled and that the hub has enough volunteers.

  • By scheduling deliveries with local district partners, Callahan Care Volunteers prepare and organize, Closet Restocks and Delivery shipments.

What’s Expected From You

  • In order to be able to provide quality service to those in the community, we need the help from your Volunteers. We will sit down together with your Hub Coordinator to delegate a number of volunteer hours that we’d like to see from your group each month. Typically a church of 500 members will be asked to provide 40 hours of volunteering per month. But if that sounds unreasonable for your group we are more than willing to accomidate.

  • Typically, volunteers will be asked to do on of the following tasks.

    - Clothes Folding and Sorting - Using provided washers a dryers, volunteers will be asked to sort and fold clothing donations as the enter the Community Hub. This ensures that our local closets will be fully stocked as needed.

-Delivery Preparation - Open Stores in the local area will request deliveries for their families in need. Volunteers will organize the Community Hub’s warehouse inventory to help fulfill those requests.

  • Each Organization is requested to provide one Hub Coordinator, they are expected to oversee the operations of the Community Hub for approximately 10-20 Hours per Month. This can be anyone in your organization that you trust such as a Family Pastor, Troop Leader, or CSR Director.

  • We’d love to have you fill out the application below so we can schedule a Zoom Call to meet with you and learn about your organization.
